Harry Lahood, 76, readies his 16-foot scull at Detweiler Marina for a predawn paddle on the Illinois River Tuesday. Lahood, a member of Illinois River Oarsmen, took up the sport in 1998 as exercise to combat some health concerns and has since rowed almost daily. Lahood rows a 3-mile routine that takes him to downtown Peoria and back.
